West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum- my review
I would like to share my review of the album:
I personally think it is great work of music with so much influances. To me its its one of the more interesting albums i came across this past year and i already have favorite tunes. ![]()
I am sure this album is not everyone cup of tea, but if you are a fan of good ol’ classic rock , Glam rock and psychedelic music you might like this too.
It is a concept album, you can sense that from the stracture of the album starting with the songs themselves. Every song got its different style, whether if its 60’s inspired song ala The Animals with “Thick as Thieves” or a Tarantino sound with Japanese influances and a perfect duet with Rosario Dawson in West Ryder Silver Bullet”, and what i was more waiting for is a bit of a hint of Syd Barrett (major Pink Floyd fan here) with “Swarfiga”. All the songs come together in one magical way and make this album one that is definewtly worth a listen.
But if you put aside for a moment all the list of artist i mantioned above, you will see that as a band Kasabian grew up, its much more a mature record then “Kasabian” & Empire”. Serge’s writing has developed tramendously, and Tom’s voice has become more stronger over the years , Ian’s drumming became more powerful and Chris’s bass guitar became a very big part of the sound in West Ryder.
All in all “West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum” introduce us to a new Kasabian, Great songwriting, music compesision, and if they will keep on this road they will be headed to a really promising way in the music industry.
